

One of the main features of this document is its extraterritorial scope, which means that it shall not only apply to the territory of the EU, but also regulate responsibilities of the companies that process personal data of EU citizens and residents in the course of their activities, regardless of where such organizations are actually located. Despite the fact that Top Cat is a Russian company, the Rating covers a number of countries, including those belonging to the European Union and, accordingly, falling under the General Data Protection Regulation. The GDPR officially entered into force on May 25, 2018, and the Top Cat Rating team assumed a voluntary obligation to comply with all its principles and requirements from the very beginning. In particular, it is about the ability to create such data, receive it, correct it at your discretion, restrict access to it, and, if necessary, delete it. This document provides residents of the EU member states with understandable and effective tools to control their personal data on the Internet. The modern information space requires strict compliance with the requirements of official IT security protocols, and in particular, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies in 28 countries of the European Union. Another topic for discussion consisted in increasing importance of personal data protection in connection with a significant growth of the IT market during the coronavirus pandemic. The main issue on the agenda was to consider the Guidelines 07/2020 on the concept of controller and processor in the GDPR. This event was held on Octowith the aim of improving information security skills and tools. At a regular scheduled educational seminar the Top Cat Rating team discussed theoretical foundations, features and practice of applying the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
